Speaker: Melissa Thrailkill, Attorney at Law

This session will cover actions immigrant families can take to protect their children and property should they have contact with the U.S. Immigration system. The speaker will cover nonparent caregiver authorizations, special powers of attorney, and durable powers of attorney, as well as information on the family court system in Texas. The speaker will also give practice tips and insight on how to interact with clients when assisting them with these matters. Attendees will leave with the skills needed to assist in upcoming workshops and clinics.
